Amber Heard channelled old-school glamour with her red carpet dress at the Metropolitan Opera Premiere of Manon in New York last night.

The actress wore a black satin maxi dress, which gave her look a silver screen idol appeal, especially with her elegant vintage updo.

She accessorised her look with crimson red lips and matching nails to complete her iconic and timeless outfit.

The Rum Diary star was joined by fellow starlets Emma Roberts, Emmy Rossum and January Jones, all of which added some youthful exuberance to the evening's events.

Emma took things up a notch with a black jumpsuit, while January Jones covered up in a dowdy black cowel-necked dress.

Emmy on the other hand brought a splash of colour to the night in a saucy fuchsia gown, which featured an Angelina Jolie style slit up one side.
