Julia Roberts has embraced this season's fishtail dress trend, by posing for photographs in a strapless navy blue gown.

The 44-year-old actress was snapped reclining on a chaise longue in the figure hugging design for a photo shoot with Vanity Fair magazine this month.

Inside the publication she discussed the difficulties for young performers to make it into the industry, as well as remaining stylish all of the time.

Julia, whose 21-year-old niece Emma Roberts has cracked her way into the world of acting, claimed that stars were not given the time to perfect their acting ability.

She said: "The business is so different. You can never be that new girl that has that movement of "Where'd she come from?"
